Ocala, FL (July 19, 2019) — The Board of Directors for the Community Foundation for Ocala Marion County recently designated founding board member, Robert “Bob” Reilly, as a Director Emeritus for the Foundation. “This is a first of its kind announcement for the Community Foundation, and we are excited to highlight Bob’s contributions to us” said Laure Deiorio, Executive Director.
Reilly officially retired from the board in June 2019. During the July 2019 board meeting, board members unanimously selected him to receive this distinguished honor. Additionally, Reilly received an award commemorating his retirement. “We are delighted for Bob, and we will continue to seek his advice and counsel in this new role,” said Frank Hennessey, president of the board of directors.
In 2007, Hennessey reached out to Reilly with the idea of creating a local foundation. Since the Community Foundation’s inception in 2010, they have served together helping the Foundation achieve its mission of connecting the charitable interest of the donor to build a stronger community. Candidates eligible for Emeritus status must have served at least two terms on the board of directors, provided extensive leadership on the board and in committees, have a history of significant contributions to the community and more. Reilly is the first Director Emeritus for the Foundation.
