Marion Therapeutic Riding Association strives to enhances lives using the healing power of human and horse connection. This unique pairing unleashes new abilities that grant purpose and envision greater opportunities. We serve persons of all capabilities with physical, emotional or intellectual challenges through Equine Assisted Activities.
Serving the heart of Florida since 1985, Marion Therapeutic Riding Association (MTRA) is a PATH Premiere Accredited Organization.
MTRA does not see the disabilities or challenges …We seek to develop our clients’ abilities and help them achieve their goals.
Our Programs:
Veterans Program – this program incorporates the benefits of traditional Therapeutic riding in addition to Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy through our partnership with the Ocala Vet Center
Traditional Therapeutic Riding – this program is offer to children and adults with any physical, emotional and intellectual challenge providing benefits in strength, balance, cognitive function, social skills and communication.
Equine Experience – This program is for foster and at-risk youth. This program seeks to help develop communication, confidence, conflict resolution. This program also helps develop social and life skills in a safe non-judgmental setting.
Hippotherapy – in partnership with advent health hippotherapy provides a licensed therapist delivering speech and language pathology
Bridge to Success – This program is to build on the job skills training for young adults with high functioning autism and/or other challenges We focus on building confidence, self-worth, empathy, coping skills and time management. This program also focuses on following through and finishing task, on the job skills, communication and interpersonal skills.
