The Miss Ocala and Miss Gainesville Scholarship Competition is a not-for-profit organization that receives no public or government funding, relying on contributions from generous members of the community and local business owners. Scholarships provide opportunities to talented and intelligent women right in our North Central Florida community. The Miss Ocala and Miss Gainesville Scholarship Competition are preliminaries to the Miss America Opportunity and Miss America’s Teen scholarship competitions.
With a passion for leaders, the Miss Ocala and Miss Gainesville Scholarship Competition is an official local franchise of the Miss America Opportunity, one of the nation’s leading achievement programs and one of the world’s largest provider of scholarship assistance for women. Last year, the Miss America Opportunity and its state and local organizations made available millions in cash and scholarship assistance.
Participating in the Miss America Opportunity helps young women pay for college and prepare for a career through hands-on leadership; all while gaining life experience, promoting sisterhood among women, working on issues of importance to society, enhancing personal and professional skills, and developing artistic expression.
