The Grant Application Window Has Closed.

Marion County is partnering with the Community Foundation for Ocala/Marion County to make grant funding available to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on Marion County nonprofit organizations, helping to weather this crisis and continue to serve Marion County residents.

Grant Programs Available

  • Sustaining Critical Services Grants: Marion County nonprofits providing critical services during COVID-19 can apply for grants, based on the nonprofit’s pre-COVID operating budget size, to cover operating expenses such as rent, utilities, and salaries

 

  • Supporting Safe Operations GrantsGrants are available to Marion County nonprofits, helping offset costs associated with new social distancing guidelines and other modifications that impact delivery of services. (Examples include costs for PPE and disinfection supplies, as well as technology required to transition to providing services online). 

 

  • Nourishing the Community Grants: Grants are available to Marion County nonprofits, helping offset costs associated with purchasing food to respond to increased demand for emergency food aid. 

 

  • Responding to Other COVID-Related NeedsUnderstanding that the impact of COVID-19 will be different for each nonprofit, this grant funding program offers grants for COVID-19 related needs other than those outlined here. 

Qualifications

Nonprofit organizations will be eligible for the grant programs if they: 

  • Provide services to Marion County residents 
  • Are a 501c3 nonprofit with at least a two-year history of providing services (churches who provide human services programming may also be eligible)
  • Are in good standing and up to date with required filings with the State of Florida and the IRS 
  • Have suffered disruptions in operations due to COVID-19 or have increased program delivery expenses due to COVID-19 

 

Restrictions

  • Grants will only fund expenses incurred between March 1, 2020, and December 30, 2020
  • Grants cannot fund expenses that have been covered by another grant or relief program such as PPP

 

Reporting

Grantees will provide financial and impact reports at the close of the grant period.

 

 

Application Process

Applicants will apply online. As part of the application process, organizations will be required to submit financial documentation including audits, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets for the past two years.
